I wave the white flag.

Apparently, texture on glass and I will not come to an agreement. Therefore, I concede. I wave my white flag, constructed with the handkerchief that I used to wipe my furrowed brow and dry my ever so bitter tears while giving it a gesture that only you and I know means 'effffffyooooooouuuuu' in some foreign land (meaning: not 'Ah-mer-KA' as my neighbor would say [while looking out 'him's win-ders' at his 'tah-may-ter' plants.] Bless his hillbilly heart.).

In the Garden remastered

Err . . . you do know Eurythmics first official album was In the Garden, right? Probably my favorite, truth be told. Anyway - I am getting closer to finishing the garden set - I have a few more ideas but I don't know exactly what I will end up including just yet. Sometimes you have an idea and for whatever reason it's crap.

In the garden . . . .

Just a quickie post - I am excited about my latest set as it begins. Inspired by my real garden and where eventually I would love for it to go (right after I purchase a manor home with english garden and a maze formed from high boxwood hedging). This is a tiny post so please, no pointing and laughing at its size.

In continuation of the set . . .

I have not been rushing on this set - I want each piece to be interesting and complete so I have been taking my time finishing up a few pieces - I think I have one more item to go, but we'll see - it needs something. I would love to make my own camera that actually worked, but the truth is - I would want to make a vintage camera that one holds at waist level and looks down into the view finder from the top.

Sleeps with the fishes

I haven't had much time lately to create - it's a bummer and I hope that resolves itself soon, but I have been slowly finishing a set that has been probably eight months in the making. Sad, I know. I photographed these art deco fish prints at work ages ago and I had a simple frame that felt unfinished.

First bounty

Will you look at that?
(technically it's the second bounty
if you count the peas)

Creation . . . celebration?

It should be mentioned that I am a self confessed heat wimp. Come winter, I will remind you that I am a cold wimp, too. Should I ever be graced with hair again, it will be long curly gold tresses with ribbons and I will have an insatiable appetite for porridge. It's true. I am fickle when it comes to temperature. I am wearing shorts to work (when it's not another blessed furlough day [ahem, today {hello! Mortgage!}]) and a hoodie because I get overheated with jeans, but cold because of a tee shirt. You feel sorry for me, I know - so sad. I mention any of this because I was reminded that I have yet to update on my garden. In fact, I will be tending this very garden myself all next week . . . alone . . . in the heat of Atlanta . . . shoot me now.

Garden Party

Recently, I posted some images of a garden project that we started around the house (that is, Chris and I). Sure, it all seems modest, but I have to say this has been some of the most backbreaking work I think I have been a part of in many years. Besides backbreaking, it has also been rewarding.
